A lot of Paris travelers take it for granted that there is only one existing modern art museum in the city.

There are two Modern Art Museums in Paris. However, there are still other places that feature modern art.

This is the Palace of Modern Art in Paris, France, the first one of the two museums that features modern art. This museum is only a portion of a larger structure. It can be found at 11 Avenue du President Wilson which is named after Woodrow Wilson, America's president during World War I.

If you chose to take the metro system to reach to the Palace of Modern Art, best stations to stop are Alma Marceau and Iena which are few walks away to your destination.

The Palace of Modern Art through its wide array of collection depicts the various schools of art in France during the 1900s such as Expressionism, Dada, Cubism and Fauvism.

French modern artists whose works are showcased in this museum include Braque, Duffy, Modigliani, Picasso and Soutine.

The Palace of Modern Art is opens from Tuesday to Sunday at 10 o'clock in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon. During weekends, it shuts down at 6:30. They also conduct temporary exhibits demanding you to pay more to see it.

The second place to see modern artworks in Paris is situated at the renowned Pompidou Center. It showcases 3000 pieces of modern artworks not only from France but various parts of the world. But then it often leases its pieces to other art museums in the city and other parts of the country, so it is best to check with the custodian if you want to see a certain art work.

Like the city modern art museum in Paris, this museum hosts many temporary exhibitions of contemporary artists from France. These are generally held in the southern wing of the museum. Entrance to this museum in Paris can be accessed from Rue Saint Merri.
